We did it! We finally did it! The first time this WHOLE summer we made it to the beach! How pathetic-- it is to me anyway! We've been so busy or the weather has been weird.
We packed a lunch and headed up to Carpinteria. Of course we hit fog as soon as we got near the coast and were a bit chilly for the first half hour, but it soon cleared and we had a perfect sunny sky!
Sydney was pretty funny and wouldn't touch the sand when we first got there. Her feet would sink into it and she would say.. "I'm stuck" and then "I'm dirty"! Pretty funny but she soon got over it.
Addison
He helped pull seaweed out of the water to compete with his sister to see who could pull out the biggest piece, got his sandwich taken away by a seagull and tried boogie boarding.
Jeff was having a great time until he sat in his chair and discovered it was broken. This is his pouty face and this was also after he dropped his sandwich in the sand! Morgan had to point it out that it was now a real "sand"wich!
I don't have very many pictures of Westley because the kid was having too much fun. The water was cold but it didn't stop them from going in! Westley tried boogie boarding.. really should of gotten that on video. He was back and forth from the water to his "sand castle" and just having the time of his life!
Morgan
She was busy pulling seaweed out of the ocean and catching sand crabs, big sand crabs too! yucky!

Looks like so much fun!
I miss the beach!
Aww so fun. And the seaweed comepetition would SO be an Anderson one; FUN! Morgan's suit is so cute. And where are you?
YAY!!! LOVE the beach! We haven't been enough times this summer either! But love the "sand" which bit....hilarious!
Looks like you guys had a fun time!
Sounds like you had a few tragic losses with the sandwiches and broken chair, but still sounds fun!!
Glad you finally made it!
You abviously needed a PROFESSIONAL Beach Bum with you to give lessons in 1. SeaGull assault tactics 2. Sandwitch vs. Sandwich handling 3. Creative chair building via sand throne 4. Surf videography
Looks like fun! Every year we say we will get to the beach but it is too much effort and the kids are so happy with our lake adventures so we stick with that!
