Ravens are #1
After the big win on Tuesday we were ready for a week of practices to get ready for the even bigger game on Saturday. Coach decided a pizza party was in order for Wednesday instead of practice?! I was very shocked but the boys had a blast just hanging out together. Thursday we didn't have practice either--what? Friday we did and it was a long one but worth it. The boys were hyped up for the game the next day and a bit nervous. Of course, you still do the whole pep talk about winning or losing....
Westley had the biggest cheering section! Thanks to my family for coming and cheering him on. The game was a bit intense with the other team scoring first but not making their extra point. The boys must have gotten over their nerves by the second half because they were on fire. We scored and DID get the extra point to make the game 7 to 6!! Then we scored again! They wanted to give Westley a chance of getting the ball in the end zone but it was tipped by the other team and he wasn't able to catch it. Such a bummer! But, he did great in the game playing center and having to block the biggest guy on the other team.
Morgan and Samantha
(a phone call was made before they saw each other!)
Sydney, Rilynn, Samantha and Morgan and little Gemmas head-- why did I not get any pictures of that cutie?
The boys got to run out of a tunnel as their names were announced
getting their pep talk before the game
Shaking hands with the other team.
kick off
Westley's in the middle snapping the ball
Samantha and Morgan and photo bombing Sydney, she's getting pretty good at that!
See that big kid above in the blue shirt? That's who Westley had to block......
WE WON!! I was too excited to be taking pictures while they were jumping around when the final whistle blew!
I think Westley is still living the dream! It was very cool to watch these boys go from the second place team to first! We had a great coach--who helped Westley out a lot! We also had three boys that quit for various reasons and only had one sub for every game! And we still won!
So, football is now over for the season. Tonight it feels pretty weird to not be rushing to get dinner ready so we can leave for practice. I'm going to have so much more time on my hands--- what did I do before September when football started? and mostly---saving money on the gas!! geesh!
GO RAVENS!!
